My love, my hearth, my home
My hope that keeps me warm.
The thawing ground trembles beneath the snow
But we all look desirably upon your flame that glows.
The promise that Winter will end.
As we observe blankets of snow on the limbs of the trees that make them bend.
This Celtic Fire Festival burns brightly for all
Shedding our old skin, embracing our Call.

Imbolc in Raleigh is far different from the cold, snowy anticipation of more northern places.
Here it is early spring. Magnolias pink buds. My camelia’s buds are heavily pregnant. Daffodils sending their spikes up to test the air before sending flowers. Hellebores in full flower, giving the hungry bees their first taste of fresh food. The self heal, and creeping charlie in the lawn starting to flower.
Yes. Brigid brings spring here in Raleigh. And I love the long spring here in North Carolina.
Beautiful, Nicole! I am ready for the thaw 🙂
